ACTIVITIES

First Activity : "Cap Kali Cap Kali Cap Cap Cap"

This activity is an activity which includes body movement where the pupils need to give their full attention to the game. It is a very interesting activity that will awake pupils who are feeling sleepy and bored from the class lesson.

   The activity is simple enough for the pupils to follow and join given that the teacher gives the instruction clearly to the pupils. The steps is as follow;

1. Asks the pupils to form a circle. In the beginning, the teacher will join in the circle.

2. The teacher will make a movement for example clap hand, stomp foot, nod head and etc while chanting the words "Cap Kali Cap Kali Cap Cap Cap".

3. Once the teacher finishes the movement while chanting the words, the pupil at the right side of the teacher will have to copy the movement that the teacher has done while chanting the words.

4. Then the second pupil will copy the first pupil and so on, which means the pupils will always look at the person on their left to see what movement that s/he should copy.

5. The pupils need to wait until their turn; when the first pupil is doing the first movement, the second pupil needs to wait until the first pupil to finish doing that movement and then he can do that movement.

5. The teacher should not stop at the first movement and should immediately make a new movement as soon as she finishes with the first movement so that the pupil beside her will also have to continue moving while chanting the words "Cap Kali Cap Kali Cap Cap Cap".

6. The game will continue and go on with the movement and chanting becoming faster until one person does a wrong movement.

7. In that case, the game should stop and a new person should make the first movement followed by the person at his/her right.

8. Play a few rounds, and then call stop.

This game would be very interesting and fun, especially when the movement and chanting becomes faster, one pupil will eventually makes a wrong movement. This will not only release the stress and keep the pupils from being bored, it can also test their level of concentration and kinaesthetic intelligence.

Good luck and try it! ^^

Second Activity : Pass The Prop

This is an energizer where students use their imagination and communicate through movement.

Supplies: a prop (a paper cup, a scarf, a piece of rope, a book)

1. Have students stand in a circle.

2. Define “prop” as any moveable item used on the set of a play or handled by an actor.

3. Instruct students that the object of this game is to change the prop you are holding into
something it is not. They must use it as if it is that object. There is no sound in this
game.

4. Hold the prop in your hands and demonstrate. For example: pretend it is a telephone,
hold it to your ear and mouth words as if you are talking into it; pretend it is a shoe and
you are slipping it on your foot; pretend it is a fork and use it to eat.

5. Students are to call out what they think you have turned the object into.

6. When they call out the correct answer, pass the prop to the student to the right. That student is to do
the same. Tell students there are no “repeaters” allowed.

7. If someone chooses the same object as you, you must come up with a different object to change the prop into.

8. Continue the game until everyone has had one turn.

9. Repeat the game again and have students add sound to the game. For example: if you
change the object into a phone, you can make a ringing sound and actually talk into it.

Third Activity: Shake Down

A physical Energizer to shake out stress, distraction and help focus energy. Have students stand in a circle or just by their desks. Instruct student to follow your lead:

1. Hold out your right hand and shake it and count from one to eight.
2. Hold out your left hand and shake it and count from one to eight.
3. Hold out your right leg and shake it and count from one to eight.
4. Hold out your left leg and shake it and count from one to eight.

Continue:
1. Hold out your right hand and shake it and count from one to seven.
2. Hold out your left hand and shake it and count from one to seven.
3. Hold out your right leg and shake it and count from one to seven.
4. Hold out your left leg and shake it and count from one to seven.

Continue to shake and count decreasing by one count until you get down to one
